Fortnite: How to find Carnage and Venom symbiotes

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 8 brings with it another alien threat in the form of Marvel’s Carnage and Venom. These two symbiotes recently crashed and landed on the island and are ready for harvest.

What are symbiotes?

Symbiotes (called Klyntar on their home planet) are alien life forms that can join individuals, regardless of species, to form a new shared entity. They are parasitic in nature, although they do not always harm their hosts; They often enhance a host’s natural attributes while granting powers such as superhuman strength, healing, and the ability to form tendrils or tentacles with their arms. In Fortnite, the symbiotes that made up Marvel’s most famous symbiotic characters Venom and Carnage became mythical portable weapons. Once found, the Venom and Carnage mythical weapons will take up a space in your inventory, allowing you to glide through the air and jump higher than normal.. Weapon activation sends out a tendril that attacks and pulls enemies away, dealing 60 damage in the process. A seven second cooldown avoids constant use.

Venom and Carnage symbiotes appear randomly in various locations on the island. Only two seem to appear per game and once a player picks them up, they disappear. At that point, the only way to get one is to remove whoever is currently using it. Because of this, it can be difficult to find symbiotes during a given game. Fortunately, the guide below will help your chances of bonding with one.

To successfully catch one of these symbiotes, you will have to wait for them to appear during the game. Please note that they are not spawned at the start of the match. Instead of, Venom and Carnage only appear after the first storm circle is revealed. At that time, the Symbiote / Spider symbols will appear on the game map. This is your cue to get to those places as quickly as possible.

Note: Online general censuses indicate that symbionts always appear after the first storm circle. In my tests, this sometimes did not happen. Sometimes they do not reproduce until the second or third cycle of storms.

While Venom and Carnage can apparently appear anywhere on the map, The two places they appear most frequently are the fields southeast of Boney Burbs and northwest of Corny Crops.. The symbiotes will be floating in a boat. Just interact with him to grab the Venom or Carnage symbiote.
