Kratos’ voice actor Christopher Judge says he’s the reason God of War: Ragnarok was delayed

Christopher Judge, the voice behind Kratos in 2018’s God of War and the upcoming sequel, has said that his surgery was the reason God of War: Ragnarok was delayed from its original 2021 release window.

Judge shared this story on Twitter. following God of War is crowned IGN’s Best Video Game of All Time Champion. Quote Tweeted a tweet from God of War Chief Engineer Jeet Shroff who was responding to victory and then continued thanking fans and sending love to his God of War family.

“Thanks to all the fans. Not just GofW, but the gaming community.” Judge wrote. “ALL OUR GAMES, have been a lifesaver during these difficult times. For my GofW family, I will NEVER be shy about telling you how much I love you all! We will continue to laugh, cry and be great!”

An hour later, he revealed the news that God of War: Ragnarok, which was revealed on the September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase with a 2021 release window, was delayed to 2022 because of him.

“[100%] in my feelings right now ” The judge continued. “I need to be forthcoming. This has not been approved by anyone. To the beloved fandom, Ragnarok was delayed because of me. August 2019, I couldn’t walk. I had to undergo back surgery, replacement of both hips and knee surgery. They also waited for me in rehab.

“No threats, no, ‘who do you think you are?’ Nothing but love and support. And @SonySantaMonica has never said a word about the delay and what caused it. The studios are idiots, but this top-down company should give us hope.

“What they did for the crew is much more … I cannot speak about that, but I have told everyone involved, [it is the classiest] something I’ve ever heard of in this business. Everyone involved in the GofW franchise puts their heart and soul in every painting you see. I want to thank everyone who has allowed me to play … And laugh, love and cry, without judging, but with unconditional support and love, in this of ALL OURS “.

Judge also ended up revealing that he resigned after being told that Cory Barlog would not direct the sequel and that Eric Williams would take his place. However, Barlog quickly eased his concern and Judge realized that “ERIC WILLIAMS is one more ***** BEAST !!!”
