What are you going to play this weekend? (October 2nd)

Another busy week in the world of Nintendo is coming to an end. This week saw loads of Switch OLED videos popping up on networks as consoles made their way into the wild ahead of next week’s launch, a new Pokémon was unveiled, the rebooted GamesMaster got its host, and the N64 turned 25. . In North America.

After all that, it’s time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Some mThe Embers of the Nintendo Life team have done exactly that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join yours via our comment section. Enjoy!

My enthusiasm for Metroid Dread is almost out of control, so right now I’m switching between Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Fusion while I wait, the former for those MercurySteam mechanics and the latter as the immediate predecessor. Why isn’t it October 8 yet?

Beyond that, I’m still enjoying a brain-death fight in Marvel Avengers, which has fun campaigns that make online multiplayer easy to ignore.

Jon Cartwright, video producer

Crazy to think that next weekend we will tell everyone how excited we are to play Metroid Dread! Getting into stasis for a week when it’s supposed to work seems frowned upon, so I guess I’ll be playing something else this weekend.

I have a few gaps in my Castlevania portfolio, specifically GBA, where I’ve only played Aria of Sorrow. Fortunately, Castlevania Advance Collection has just been released and I know the other two games don’t get the same amount of love, but I’m still eager to form my opinion on them, naturally starting with Circle of the Moon. With rumors of a new installment circulating, now seems like a very good time to dive deeper into the series.

This weekend is EAST WEEKEND, honey! I wish I could play The Forgotten City again, but I know all the twists, so I’ll tell you to play it instead. At Eastward, on the other hand, I’ve only been in for a few hours and I’m still not sure what it’s really about, so I suppose there’s a lot more to see and learn. It’s fun!

Hi friends! I’m still working on the Castlevania Advance Collection this weekend. I’m jumping between games right now, but I’m focusing a lot on Aria of Sorrow right now. It’s wonderful, isn’t it? Having a lot of fun with the collection, but it’s clear that Circle of the Moon has aged quite a bit in the years since its launch.

Elsewhere, I downloaded AI: The Somnium Files on the X Series. It’s a good pallet cleaner after last weekend. Infinite halo flight, and it keeps me busy until the launch of Alan Wake Remastered (I can not Wait by!).

Gonçalo Lopes, reviewer

How is everyone so calm when we are less than a week away from Metroid Dread? Sure, this was another wonderful week in the eShop with wild action in Antonball Deluxe, hilarious UnMetal antics, and a nice wave of nostalgia coming from Castlevania Advance Collection and Hot Wheels Unleashed. It should be a great weekend … counting down the days until Samus once again graces my TV.

The game of the week is G-Darius HD. A personal PS1 favorite back in the day is now a personal Switch favorite in the glorious HD remastered edition. Don’t even get me started on the Zuntata soundtrack. Meditation indeed!
