What are you going to play this weekend? (November 6th)

What are your game plans?

Another week on the inexorable march into the 2021 holiday season, and it’s been a busy one as far as Nintendo is concerned. The platform’s headline released its quarterly financial results: Profits are down but on track, and industry-wide production issues are a particular thorn in Nintendo’s side today, and release dates for your next list of games. The Animal Crossing 2.0 update dropped a day earlier than expected and has kept islanders busier than in years. I have to love Brewster!

Now, however, it is time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Some mThe Embers of the Nintendo Life team have done exactly that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join yours via our comment section. Enjoy!

Like many of the Switch owners, I will be playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0, and I will also get stuck in the incredibly cute Happy Home Paradise DLC for your review. I only did the opening part, but it made me smile a lot. I also have a strange need to finally start a second Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game.

In another place that I’ll relax with Forza Horizon 5, which is the only driving franchise that appeals to me, alongside Mario Kart, obviously.

What am I going to play this weekend? Well, judging by the notifications that pop up every two minutes on my Switch, I think we’re all playing the same thing: Puyo Puyo Tetris.

I’m kidding. I’m playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC, or ACNHHHPDLC for short.

Hey people! I’m not quite ready to close the door on Halloween yet, so I’ll get caught up in a bit of gothic horror with the Castlevania Advance Collection. I’m also working on New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe after a long hiatus; It’s not the best game in the series by any means, but I love its carefree and carefree nature.

In Series X, I wish I could say that I am playing Forza Horizon 5, but I am looking forward to its release on GamePass on Tuesday. Instead, I’ll be brushing up on some Halo multiplayer with that fabulous new Orion ‘Macworld’ armor. Have a nice one, everyone!

SpookvemberHe’s here, ready to slaughter our wallets. We don’t really have a proper Halloween tradition in my country, but in said Christmas spirit this weekend I have a double dose of zombies on the Switch: Dying light and World War Z I should make sure my neighbors won’t be long before rumbling explosions from my audio setup rattle their living rooms (don’t worry, they’re idiots). Tunche It is also a delight for the routine and, finally, my physical edition of Star renegades came, really looking forward to that one.

The game of the week is Inazuma Eleven Strikers on the Wii. I’ve almost given up hope of having the latest version of this on the Switch, which is a real shame. Prove me wrong, Level 5: Inazuma Eleven Ares it’s still real … right?

Cards on the Table: There is often a huge disparity between my game plans (as documented here almost weekly) and the reality of my weekend.

This week i plan to get back to Animal Crossing and the DLC, and research the Age of Calamity DLC, and play some more Ocarina and Star Fox 64 with my gorgeous new NSO N64 controller, and continue my journey through Metroid Dread, and begin play Alien: Isolation, which has been in my order book for years.

Reality? I’ll probably take 20 minutes with Tetris Effect just before midnight. 20 glorious minutes.

Enjoy everyone!

As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
