Pokémon GO changes the look of arena battles – coaches think it’s crazy

Trainers noticed a new visual change in Pokémon GO that can be found in arena battles. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at what’s new and show you the reactions from the community.

What kind of fights is it about? In Pokémon GO, the trainers have the opportunity to kick players of other team colors out of the arenas and occupy them themselves. This is done by competing and fighting against them alone or together with other coaches.

These types of fights are also known as arena fights. Similar to raid fights, these take place in the respective arena. Now coaches have noticed a visual change that makes the combat environment look even more realistic.

Trainers feel they are being observed through visual changes

In addition to the two fighting Pokémon that were in the middle of the arena, the stands were previously decorated in color to represent a kind of audience. Now the trainer MoonCheese58 has just noticed a visual change there, which he shares with the community on reddit.

At first glance, the fight looks completely normal, but Niantic has apparently really worked hard with the design of the spectator stands. There you can see many different trainers in different poses. That looks much more realistic than the previous design.

The Pokémon GO reddit community agrees. While the post creator thinks the new look of the arena is funny, other coaches are a bit surprised and joke in the comments.

  • SirJamesM: “Do the people in the stands really look like that? Player avatars only? That is crazy ”.
  • SelfBoundBeatuy: “Tireless guards, look with your eyes on this pathetic thing”
  • rocketnail1000: “Big Brother is watching”
  • LavitzOfBrasil: “That’s kind of scary”

Other visual changes in Pokémon GO

But the adjustment of the audience at Arena Battles isn’t the only change that Trainers have noticed in Pokémon GO over the past few days. After the maintenance work that took place last week, further innovations have now been discovered.

Full Pokémon Storage: One of them is an orange dot in the middle of the Poké Ball that brings you to the menu. This lights up when your Pokémon storage is full and you cannot catch another monster.

This is especially useful before starting raids. So you can see immediately whether a monster has to be sorted out before the fight in order to be able to catch the raid boss.

And also in the Pokémon storage itself and the item bag, the space information is marked in red as soon as you have no more free capacity. So you can see at a glance whether you need to create new places.

Nearby Pokémon: As the BirthdayAgent trainer noted, the monsters in the “Nearby” overview are now outlined with a blue circle. The players ask themselves in the comments whether these have a more profound meaning.

DanHero91 writes: “I noticed them earlier, what do they actually do? Or is that just a question of style? ” (via reddit.com). So far, however, no one has been able to give him an answer. Niantic has also kept a low profile on this so far. If there is any new information, you can of course find it here on MeinMMO.
