Eurojackpot: Warning – fake cover letters are circulating

Finally land the big win: That’s what all Eurojackpot players hope for. This hope is not unfounded – players actually win huge amounts every week. And this is exactly what scammers take advantage of. You send e-mails or letters with fake cover letters and promise six-figure sums in them. The criminals use, among other things, the WestLotto logo and the name of the WestLotto managing director. At first glance, these letters may look real. However, if you take a closer look, they can quickly be unmasked as a fake, especially because they are written in poor and faulty German. Among other things, the fraudsters ask to report to a Wuppertal telephone number. Such a WestLotto number does not exist.

WestLotto advises not to respond to this type of letter, under no circumstances to provide any personal information and never to disclose sensitive data such as bank details. Instead, the police should be called in immediately.
