Apple is preparing to replace its iPhone smart phone with another device, whichwhich will provide the computational capabilities necessary to meet all the demands of the user of the future.

The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, recognized expert in the technology industry, has predicted the date when this substitute will appear, and even anticipates its characteristics.

In a letter to investors, accessed by the 9to5mac portal, Kuo points out that this will happen exactly 10 years from now: This device will be released on the market in 2032, and most likely it will consist of a helmet or augmented reality glasses, technology that superimposes digital images on the real-life display.

Kuo stresses that the future device will displace the “smartphone” and will also have independent computing capabilities comparable to the power of the Mac, Apple’s legendary computer. If not, it just couldn’t match iPhone sales.

“There are currently more than 1 billion active iPhone users. If Apple’s goal is to replace it in 10 years with a form of augmented reality, this means that it will have to sell at least 1 billion of these devices in the next decade, ”explains the expert.

If the helmet is positioned solely as an accessory for the Mac or iPhone, it would not be favoring the growth of the product.

“An augmented reality headset that works independently means that it will have its own ecosystem and provide a more complete and flexible user experience”, details the expert.

In the same letter, Kuo points out that an early version of that helmet, which Apple plans to introduce as early as next year, will feature two Sony 4K micro OLED displays, which means that it will support virtual reality, technology for full immersion in the digital world. .
