Halo Infinite plays like an old school shooter. So it’s not only a very good alternative if you’re currently disappointed with Call of Duty and Battlefield – there are also many quirks that need to be learned.

One of those quirks is that there is no clear best weapon in Halo Infinite. Each of the currently 22 weapons in the game has its own niche. They therefore work on a rock-paper-scissors principle: Each ratchet is very strong against one type of weapon, but very weak against another.

Choosing a weapon as the “best weapon” in Halo is therefore impractical. There is no such thing as the best hand movement in rock-paper-scissors. Instead, we tell you what the most important weapons in Halo Infinite are and what makes them so good.

BR75 – the better assault rifle

What makes this weapon so powerful? If Halo pros dream of a weapon, it is the BR75 combat rifle. Since Halo 2, this weapon has impressed with its power, precision and reliability. It’s no different in Halo Infinite. Therefore, the weapon is part of the standard loadout in the ranking arena.

The BR75 fires in volleys of 3 shots each. Thanks to the ammunition in the magazine and the zoom function, the BR75 is a danger over most distances. You should always take this weapon with you when you have the opportunity.

How do you use the gun correctly? The BR75 kills with 3 bursts of fire in the body and one in the head. Like most of the guns in the game, the BR75 doesn’t do more damage on headshots until it has a broken shield. Therefore, you should always aim at the body while your opponent still has a shield. A precise headshot afterwards takes care of the opponent in next to no time.

MK50 Sidekick – The main weapon in the game

What makes this weapon so powerful? This little gun is perhaps the most important gun in the game. It may not be the strongest in terms of firepower, but you will get a disproportionate number of kills with this weapon. That’s because you always start with her. She also kills with just one headshot after a broken shield.

Because the sidekick is always perfectly precise with the first shot, it can do this even at greater distances.

How do you use the gun correctly? Because you always start with this weapon, you should always pull it out if, for example, you have broken the opponent’s shield with the standard assault rifle. A quick headshot with the weapon is more deadly than continuing to fire with the assault rifle.

With its slight zoom function, it is also helpful at a distance. But be careful not to shoot the pistol too quickly at a distance – it becomes very imprecise if the rate of fire is too high.

Despite its reliability, you should still replace the MK50 Sidekick with better ranged weapons as soon as possible – like the BR75.

Shock Rifle – The special weapon that isn’t

What makes this weapon so powerful? In contrast to the S7 sniper rifle, the shock rifle is not a special weapon, but it still always kills with a headshot. That makes them extraordinarily dangerous in the right hands.

It is also strong that if hit, an electric shock hits all other opponents in the immediate vicinity. This not only makes helpful extra damage: you can see where other opponents are from the electricity effects.

How do you use the gun correctly? You should use this weapon in the same way as the S7 sniper rifle: stay at a distance, aim at heads and try not to be hit.

Guardian Ray – A deadly ray for specific situations

What makes this weapon so powerful? The Guardian Beam is reminiscent of the Lightning Gun from Quake or Zarya’s weapon in Overwatch. You do a lot of damage with a continuous laser beam, but it has a limited range. As long as you can aim well with this weapon, you dominate your opponents.

How do you use the gun correctly? With this weapon it is very important to fire at your opponent from a perfect distance. If you are too far away, your laser does not have sufficient range; if you are too close, it will be difficult to keep your crosshairs on the enemy.

So try to be as far away from the enemy as possible as your laser beam is long. So you’re terribly strong with this weapon.

Mangler – The secret favorite of the community

What makes this weapon so powerful? This weapon doesn’t have the highest rate of fire. In addition, the bullets are projectiles. This makes it more difficult to use than the hitscan weapons, where bullets hit the enemy immediately after firing. Nevertheless, this brute revolver is currently becoming a secret favorite in the community.

The weapon kills faster than most other weapons in the game: With two body hits this weapon breaks a shield, a subsequent head hit kills. It is therefore a monster for precise players at medium distances.

The Mangler is also very strong at short distances: it kills as quickly as the shotgun and its blades do more melee damage.

How do you use the gun correctly? With the Mangler you can take on 2 – 3 opponents without having to worry about the ammunition. Try to shoot enemies, especially from a medium distance. Use the higher melee damage when they get too close.

Skewer – Pure Power, Difficult Handling

What makes this weapon so powerful? The Skewer is a cross between a rocket launcher and a sniper. The harpoon that you fire with this weapon flies slowly and heavily through the air, but always kills with one hit – regardless of whether you hit the head or the little toe. Vehicles are also broken after 1 – 2 hits with the skewer.

This incredible strength is offset by its clumsiness: it is difficult to hit the opponents with the Skewer, the reload times are long and the ammunition is severely limited.

How do you use the gun correctly? Although the weapon has a zoom function, it should rarely be used as a classic sniper. The easiest thing to do is to hit opponents who have jumped – shoot where they will land.

Do not use the skewer reactively, but plan ahead: aim where you expect the opponent at any moment; not where he is already.

S7 Sniper Rifle – Potentially the best weapon in the game

What makes this weapon so powerful? The S7 sniper rifle can single-handedly kill an entire team multiple times. In normal 4v4 matches, one magazine is enough to kill each opponent once. The only requirement is that you hit the head: the S7 always kills with a headshot – even enemies with a full shield.

Because you are perfectly precise even in the middle of motion and with hip fire, this sniper rifle is an enormous danger. It is one of the most important and best weapons in the game.

How do you use the gun correctly? There is only one rule for the S7: Hit your shots. If you play this weapon well, you can prevent a team from playing for minutes. But if you don’t have a good aim with the weapon, you are wasting its incredibly important potential.

M41 SPNKR – Perfect against large groups

What makes this weapon so powerful? The rocket launcher works exactly as you would expect in Halo Infinite: It does a lot of explosion damage in a certain radius. With this he can kill several opponents with one shot. This weapon is also one of the strongest counterattacks against vehicles, but the M41 in Halo Infinite does not have a lock-on function.

How do you use the gun correctly? Do not aim directly at the opponent, but at their feet. The environmental damage is enough to kill enemies. Therefore, aiming at an opponent’s body is unnecessarily complicated.

But be careful not to catch your own feet in the process – suicides are very easy with a gun. This gives the opponent the opportunity to pocket this powerful weapon without resistance.
