Dead by Daylight: From today a crazy artist is killing you
The latest patch from Dead by Daylight is live. We’ll tell you what the new killer and the survivor can do.
The latest chapter has been published in Dead by Daylight. The DLC called “Portrait of a Murder” brings two new characters and a fresh map. While the killer “The Artist” makes use of creepy crows, the new survivor Jonah Vasquez brings another, controversial boon perk with him.
What can the killer “The Artist” do?
The artist is a pretty perfidious long-range killer. She can create several ravens who calmly look in one direction and are only fired when the artist wants them to. The ravens reveal survivors and, if they are already revealed, inflict damage. As a result, the artist has a very high mind game potential, but can also equip narrow spaces with traps that she fires on command.
The 3 perks of the killer “The Artist”
Like all killers, the artist comes with 3 independent perks. At the beginning only she has these talents, but over time they can also be unlocked for all other killers via the blood network.
- Gloomy hug – Every time you hang a Survivor for the first time, you will receive a counter. Once you’ve accumulated 4 counters, Dark Hug will be triggered. The entity blocks all generators for 30/35/40 seconds and the aura of your obsession is revealed for 5 seconds.
- Scourge hook: echo of pain – At the beginning of the test, 4 hooks are converted into scourge hooks. You can see their aura in white. Whenever a Survivor is hooked on a scourge hook, the generator with the most progress will explode, instantly losing 9% / 12% / 15% progress and its progress starting to decrease further. Survivors who fix this generator right now will scream, giving away their location.
- Fluch: Repentance – You see the auras of destroyed totems. You can perform a ritual on destroyed totems to rekindle them. The more reignited totems there are in the game, the more effects take effect.
- 1 newly kindled totem: Reduces the repair speed of the survivors by 20% / 25% / 30%.
- 2 newly kindled totems: the healing speed of the survivors is reduced by 20% / 25% / 30%.
- 3 newly ignited totems: The recovery speed of survivors who are in the “dying” state is reduced by 20% / 25% / 30%.
- 4 newly lit totems: Reduces the opening speed of the exit gates by 20% / 25% / 30%.
- 5 newly kindled totems: The entity blocks all totems.
The 3 perks from survivor Jonah Vasquez
The survivor also comes with 3 special perks that you can unlock for all other survivors via the blood network. With Jonah you can unlock the following powers:
- Deal with – If you are injured, you will receive the speed bonus for another 2 seconds. This triggers exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds. Coping cannot be triggered when you are exhausted.
- Corrective action – You start the exam with 1/2/3 counters and get an additional count for each great skill check up to a maximum of 5. If a survivor fails a skill check while working with you, 1 counter is used and the failed skill check turns into a successful one.
- Blessing: Exponential – Press and hold the “Active Ability” button to turn a lackluster totem or an escape totem into a blessing totem. Survivors within 24 meters of the blessing totem recover 90% / 95% / 100% faster from the “dying” state and can thus fully recover. You can only bless one totem at a time and all your blessing skills are combined in one totem.
What else is in patch 5.4.0? Apart from the two new characters, there is also the new card “Eyrie of Crows”, which thematically fits the artist. It’s arguably the brightest card in Dead by Daylight so far, with a rather unusual design.
Apart from that, the patch is full of bug fixes that fix minor and major problems.
