The GTA remaster is already available digitally, but the physical versions are still to come.

the GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition should also appear again as a physical disk or cartridge version. But they are coming even later than originally planned. While the digital version has been available for a few weeks, the physical versions should arrive on December 7th. But nothing will come of it, the launch on PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X has been postponed to the end of December. Nintendo Switch owners will even have to wait until 2022.

GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition will physically be released even later

This is what it’s about: GTA 3, GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City were released together again as the so-called GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X, the PC and the Nintendo Switch. All in all, the remaster was a big disappointment, which is primarily due to the technical condition of the new edition. It was really catastrophic, especially on the Switch:

Physical version comes later: The physical disk or card version of the GTA Trilogy was curiously supposed to appear almost a month after the launch of the digital version anyway, namely on December 7th. Now Rockstar is postponing the release a few more weeks. Even more so on the Switch.

When does it appear now? According to Rockstar, the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X will not be released until on December 17th. The physical switch version is due to appear sometime in early 2022 and therefore no longer has a fixed release date. There is no mention of a dedicated disk version for the PS5.

At least a previously leaked picture of the map version for the Switch indicates that the GTA Trilogy is so big that it does not fit on a Switch cartridge and you have to download some data first.

What do you expect from the physical version of the GTA Trilogy? Do you want to get them at all and if so, for which system?
