LoL: Twitch streamer employs its own mother as a cook – she pays princely

Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp (26) is by far the biggest streamer for League of Legends on Twitch. He is actually known as a rabid hothead, but in an interview there is now a rare glimpse into his private life: He pays his mother $ 70,000 a year to bring him dinner in the evening.

• The streamer Tyler1 is a muscle-packed LoL streamer who is known for his outbursts of anger, his LoL skills and shamelessly lying about his own known greatness. He presents himself with extremely difficult challenges and then spends months fulfilling them.

How much is he paying his mother? According to the interview, Tyler1 supports his mother with $ 70,000 a year. That is around 62,000 euros, i.e. a good 5,000 euros a month.

He pays her to bring his food to his house every evening, we’re talking about pizza calzone, chicken and rice, or a Salisbury steak.

The mother says she has given up her old job, but still finds the situation strange: “Is it intended that your child will take care of you and pay your salary?”

In an interview with the Washington Post, she said: When people ask her about her job, she says she is a private cook, but not that she cooks for her son.

• Tyler1’s father is black but was absent during Tyler1’s childhood. His mother was 17 when Tyler1 was born. He grew up in a “trailer park”, in a caravan that was heated with a stove in winter.
• At Christmas 2015, his grandma gave him a webcam for $ 50 – and Tyler1 has been streaming ever since.
• Steinkamp takes “Adderall” against an attention / hyperactivity disorder – he has been doing this since 1st grade.
• Tyler1 estimates he’s made about $ 5 million in the last few years – his manager is a 30-year-old man named Ismail in Germany, whom he only met once. He is its agent, editor and negotiator.

Tyler1 was at the “Central Methodist University” and played football there. But last summer before college, he quit college to become a full-time streamer. At the time, he was making $ 52 a week and calculated that he could make a living on rice and potatoes.
