A handheld that, similar to Steam Deck, delivers top quality Xbox games to you via cloud streaming, no matter where you are? Sounds great and could be a work in the works at Microsoft according to an insider. As always with such rumors, caution is of course required, official information is not yet available. But the clues are interesting.

New dev kit fuels rumors

Razer and Qualcomm have just launched their dev kit for a new mobile handheld. The Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 is said to offer 144 fpg, 4K HDR output and more for Android devices. To do this, he uses the latest cloud gaming options – Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Streaming were explicitly cited as examples. The look of the handheld is also a clear finger pointing in the direction of Xbox, because the ABXY buttons in the corresponding colors could come directly from Microsoft.

There is currently no information about the release of the handheld or its availability for developers. In the report of Windows Central Author Jez Cordan spoke explicitly about Microsoft’s handheld plans about the new Dev Kit.

According to Cordan, “Microsoft has been studying Xbox handheld prototypes for a while.” He also noted that technology similar to Qualcomm’s featured platform “should be seriously considered by Microsoft”. Cordan has already made correct predictions about Microsoft in the past, which is why his statement should not be underestimated.
