STALKER 2 – Heart of Chernobyl: Up to 180 GB of storage space required?

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is set to be released on April 28, 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X | S. So there is enough time to play through a few other titles and thus possibly create space on the hard drive. Because as it currently looks, the title will require a lot of storage space. According to the Pre-order page of the game in the Xbo Store, the requirements of STALKER 2 for Xbox Series X | S will be around 180 GB. However, one does not seem to be quite sure: Die Detail view of the game is satisfied with “only” 150 GB. Since the memory size is given here as “approximate”, it could of course decrease a little before the release, which would be particularly advantageous for gamers on the Xbox Series S – after all, the console only has around 360 GB of usable hard disk space.

The title is also listed on Steam with a size of 150 GB, which of course still requires an enormous amount of space. In addition, the recommended system requirements are an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or an Intel Core i7-9700k, a Radeon RX 5799 XT or a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and 16 GB of RAM.

STALKER 2 will be one of the first published titles to use the new Unreal Engine 5 – whether this is sufficient to explain the abundant needs and the rather demanding system requirements cannot yet be assessed. However, there are still a few months to go before the title is actually released, so some of this information is subject to change.
