Pokémon Legends Arceus could make catching Shinys even harder

You can see Pokémon in Arceus on the map, but don’t rejoice too soon.

Anyone who has ever wanted to catch an Abra probably knows the frustration. First you have to find the Pokémon in the tall grass and then it just flees the fight. While we can see the pocket monsters in Pokémon Legends Arceus on the map of the overworld, that doesn’t mean they’re that easy to get caught. This could lead to extremely frustrating moments, especially when hunting Shinys.

Shinys fangen in Pokémon Legends Arceus

The well-known leaker Riddler Khu confirmed in response to a fan request that we can recognize Shinys in Pokémon legends Arceus on the upper world. That makes it even easier to catch one of the rare shapes at first glance. However, there is a second mechanism that could thwart our plans.

Pokémon can flee: Riddler Khu adds that some species are on a kind of alert and “run away when disturbed”. We already know from the trailers that there is a creep mechanism in Arceus that is probably used here. We can also use homemade bombs that stun or slow down Pokémon. One can only imagine how annoying it must be to run into a Shiny just for it to get away from you.

What are Shinys? The Shinys, also called dazzling Pokémon in German, are random monsters that have a different color than normal and are equipped with better stats. The Shinys are so rare, however, that you might not even come across a single one of them in a normal playthrough. The probability of their appearance is usually 1 in 4096, but this value can be manipulated in your favor.
