Next AC Valhalla DLC supposedly like God of War: Leaker reveals release and playing time

The next extensive Valhalla add-on will probably go into other worlds.

We’ve known for a while that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is slated for a third major expansion. There is no official information yet, but the well-known and relatively credible leaker Tom Henderson would like to have some information about the DLC that he shares with us on Twitter. Among other things, he supposedly knows how long it will take us for the add-on and approximately when it will appear:

  • Alleged release period: March 2022
  • Possible playing time: 40 hours

That’s what the next Valhalla DLC should offer

Model of God of War: So the DLC is going to be pretty extensive, like a game in its own right. But that is probably not what is meant when a “God of War style” expansion is mentioned. Henderson himself cites his anonymous source here.

The allusion to God of War is probably related to the foray into the fantasy genre that the DLC is likely to offer. Instead of fighting humans and wild animals as before, it could then go against elves, dwarves and other mythical beings.

We also know that: Henderson’s statements also seem to confirm another leak that occurred a few weeks ago. According to this, the add-on will be called “Dawn of Ragnarök” (in German possibly Götterdämmerung) and will lead us to Schwarzalbenheim, the realm of the dwarves, which is facing an invasion from Muspelheim. The fantasy aspect is also carried over to the gameplay: Eivor should be able to teleport and make itself invisible.

At the moment you can earn a new weapon in Valhalla:

Another update in December: A slightly smaller DLC should appear later this month. Henderson has no further information about the update, but he suspects that Ubisoft’s plans could be revealed at the Game Awards, which take place on the night from Thursday to Friday. If that is the case, it is quite possible that we will get a first look at the big expansion for 2022.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is far from finished

For some, it may come as a surprise that Ubisoft is still providing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with extensive expansions in the second year after the release. In fact, the title will probably be supported until the successor is finished. This is called Assassin’s Creed Infinity and is intended to connect all previously introduced timelines. The focus here is clearly on an online experience. However, it could be years before the service game appears, and that is how long we will get new content for Valhalla.
