Nightingale: Ex-Dragon Age creators show off their new survival and crafting game

Nightingale takes us through portals into many different fantasy worlds.

Nightingale looks very promising in several ways: The trailer exudes a lot of charm and atmosphere and shows an interesting, new world full of fantastic creatures. There’s even some initial gameplay to see and the mix of crafting, survival, firearms, building, and magic looks cool and fun.

What is Nighingale? Nightingale is the new and first game from the equally fresh development studio Inflexion Games. It was shown and presented for the first time with a detailed trailer yesterday evening and tonight at the Game Awards 2021. The people behind it call Nightingale a shared world survival crafting game with a Victorian-inspired fantasy setting.

This is how it looks: The best thing to do is to take a look at the trailer yourself first.

How does it play? Judging by the trailer and the gameplay shown – like a colorful mix Valheim, Grounded, Greedfall and titles like Ark, Rust or Conan Exiles. That means we have to farm a lot of resources, build our own small settlement and then defend it against a lot of huge enemies and all kinds of fantasy beings. Most of this all happens from a first person perspective.

Studio consists of veterans: The whole thing looks even more promising now that we know who the game comes from. Behind Inflexion Games are some developers who used to work at Bioware. There they worked, for example, on the Dragon Age series, the Mass Effect games or Knights of the Old Republic.

When is Nightingale coming? There is no exact release date yet and it will probably take a while before the title appears. There are plans at least once to start early access on the PC in the coming year 2022. We can only guess when a full launch is due, but you shouldn’t expect it before 2023. But Nightingale has also been in the business for three years.

More about the Game Awards 2021:

The big downer: So far we only know that Nightingale should appear on PC. Or rather, there was simply only talk of PC Early Access, otherwise we don’t know anything about the final release plans. But a launch on PS5 and Xbox Series S / X is, in our opinion, quite possible – Gamepro asked the studio and inquired about console versions.

How do you like the trailer? Do you fancy Nightingale?
