Battlefield 2042: Season 1 seems to be late – leaker finds clues

Battlefield 2042 has had a very turbulent launch. Some updates solved major issues, but players are still unhappy with the quality of the game. Now leakers are saying: The future plans could also disappoint fans. MeinMMO tells you more.

A well-known Battlefield leaker made the game’s community sit up and take notice. The dataminer “temporyal” has found information that gives clues to the start of Season 1. The leaker probably also discovered a new map in the game data, which is to come with Season 1.

Even if this information has so far been purely speculative and not officially confirmed, the fans are not happy about it. The reason: Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 should start much later than expected by the players.

What are the latest leaks saying? The dataminer “temporyal” has allegedly found new information in the data from Battlefield 2042. He shared his discoveries in a tweet.

He is said to have discovered the following information in the data from Battlefield 2042. Like all leaks, these should be treated with caution:

  • The weekly missions that came into play with Update 3 and should bridge the period up to Season 1 run for 12 weeks.
  • The map for Season 1 is probably Exposure. This has probably already been leaked under the name Ridge in the past.
  • This map is supposed to be set in the Canadian Rockies. The fight is for a weapons research facility that was discovered after a landslide.

The information about the weekly missions is especially interesting. Pre-planned weekly missions last for 12 weeks. This suggests that the pre-season should last a total of 12 weeks.

This would mean that Season 1 would only start in March 2022. EA has officially said that Season 1 should appear at the beginning of 2022.

How trustworthy are the leaks? Like all leaks, this one should be treated with great caution. Although “temporyal” was correct in the past with Battlefield information, these datamines are not a reliable confirmation of content and plans.

In addition, the leaker interprets information that was apparently found in the data as an indication of the launch date of Season 1. However, this interpretation can also be wrong.

From EA or DICE we have not yet received any more detailed information about the content of the Seasons or the Battle Pass. Everything apart from official confirmation is still speculation.

Well-known leaker says: Leaked plans are no longer correct

Another well-known Battlefield leaker, Tom Henderson, has also spoken out. He also assumes significantly different future plans for Battlefield 2042.

Tom Henderson, who has published the most leaks so far for the future of Battlefield 2042 and the supposed content of the Battle Passes, says:

The plans after the launch [von Battlefield 2042] are completely in the bucket. So everything I’ve said so far about the post-launch plans prior to the game’s release…. Just ignore that.

Which leaks should no longer be correct? Henderson had leaked the following content for each season in the past:

  • 1 new specialist
  • 2 new maps for All-Out Warfare and Hazard Zone
  • 2 new maps for Battlefield Portal
  • An update for the Hazard Zone
  • 6 to 8 new weapons for each mode
  • 2 to 3 new vehicles for each mode

Now he says that this information should no longer be correct. It is not clear whether this applies to every listed item.

The latest leaks from @temporyal seem to indicate that a new map with Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 will continue to come. Even if that could not happen until March 2022.

Both leaks suggest that the future plans for Battlefield 2042 have changed significantly. This can also be due to the changes in the management level of the developers:
