Elden Ring uses six times as much memory as Dark Souls Remastered

Elden Ring is one of the absolute Most Wanted games of 2022.

It still takes just under two months until the open game world of Elden Ring invites you to extensive exploration. Many can hardly wait for the release and greedily suck up every little piece of news, which for spoiler reasons can currently be dangerous.

Fortunately, the memory size of Elden Ring is not one of this information, which you still want to avoid at all costs. On the contrary, for many it should be interesting how much space on the hard drive is taken up by the most ambitious FromSoftware title to date. And exactly this info has now leaked.

As can be read on Twitter, among other things, the memory size of Elden Ring is without the day-one patch 44.47 GB. This information relates to the PS5 version, but the Xbox Series X / S variant should be in a similar range. In addition, the preload for the game should be available from February 23rd, so from this date you can download the title in advance.

The biggest FromSoftware game to date

Compared to other blockbuster titles, the memory size appears to be moderate to small, but in direct comparison with the other FromSoftware games it turns out that Elden Ring is the title with the most memory hunger to date.

It uses more than twice as much memory on the PS5 hard drive as Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin and is even more than six times as large as Dark Souls: Remastered.

However, this information is not really surprising, after all, Elden Ring is the first FromSoftware title to offer an expansive open world and should probably also leave the studio’s previous games behind in terms of size and playing time.
