New tool in CoD Warzone bans 48,000 cheaters in one day – does it finally solve the big problem?

RICOCHET, the new anti-cheat system for CoD Warzone and Vanguard started a week ago. Official social media reported that over 48,000 cheater accounts have now been banned in one day. But is that enough to solve the problem?

In Call of Duty there has been a big and well-known cheater problem at least since the release of Warzone. The long-awaited and urgently needed new anti-cheat system called RICOCHET was developed to help out. Cheaters should be better recognized and banned from all CoD games forever.

Last week the new cheat tool launched worldwide. Now the Call of Duty Twitter account announced that a large wave of spells happened in one day. But is that enough to solve the problem?

Developers say: 48,000 banned accounts in one day

What happened? On Twitter, the official Call of Duty account announced that 48,000 cheater accounts in CoD Warzone and Vanguard have been banned. That happened on one day, December 21st.

According to the tweet, the new cheat tool RICHOCHET should be responsible for this. Accordingly, these accounts should be banned from all CoD games forever.

In August it was announced that over 500,000 players had been banned from the launch of Warzone in March 2020 to August 2021 (via VGC). It is not precisely known how many have joined yesterday’s ban wave.

Are these measures sufficient?

The big problem with modern CoD games are the cheaters. Especially since the launch of Warzone, they have been annoying the community. The huge popularity of the free battle royale and cross-play add to the magnitude of the problem.

Accordingly, fans have high expectations for the new anti-cheat system RICOCHET.

Judging by the latest statements, 48,000 players would have been banned in one day thanks to RICOCHET, compared to 500,000 in about 1.5 years. However, these numbers do not show how quickly the cheater accounts have multiplied since then and are now multiplying. It is therefore not clear how many cheaters are actually recognized and how many there are in total.

Accordingly, one cannot clearly see whether RICOCHET can completely solve the problem. The numbers are impressive in any case – both in terms of the amount of cheaters and in terms of the apparent effectiveness of RICOCHET.

What about with you? Do you still have problems with cheaters after RICOCHET? Or has the new system noticeably improved the game? Let us know in the comments.

Not only cheaters anger but the CoD community. You are absolutely not satisfied with the current state of the games:
