VfB Lübeck extends contract with youngster Taritas

Just one day after Jan Lippegaus, VfB Lübeck prematurely extended the contract with the next youngster. Vjekoslav Taritas (22) will also play at the Lohmühle until at least 2023.

22-year-old striker is already a fixture in the regional league

Born in Croatia, he came to the north from the Slovakian club Dunajska Streda in 2018, initially playing for TSV Bargteheide and Prussia Reinfeld before joining the U23 of VfB Lübeck in 2020. And this summer, the 22-year-old striker was the first youngster to make the leap into the Green-Whites regional league team. Since then, Taritas has become a permanent fixture in coach Lukas Pfeiffer’s team, playing in 17 of the 18 league games and scoring six goals.

“We are happy about this extension, because Vjeki’s path corresponds exactly to the ideas and expectations that we have of young players. In the last few months he has shown himself to be a very hardworking player who is willing to learn and who has developed step by step. We have seen his value for the team over the past few weeks, ”said VfB sporting director Rocco Leeser.

Taritas still has big plans at VfB Lübeck

Taritas is also happy about the early Christmas present – and still has big plans for Lohmühle: “I am very grateful for this chance to continue playing here at VfB. I’m looking forward to playing in this beautiful stadium and in front of these great fans in the future. My goal is to play football with the team as successfully as possible and to take further steps in my career with VfB. “
