Insider tip in Fortnite: Why you should now play the original PvE Fortnite for Christmas

Fortnite has a paid PvE mode called “Save the World”. This is even more worthwhile thanks to the switch to Chapter 3. We at MeinMMO show you how you can get the best out of PvE mode and still have fun during the Christmas season.

What is “Save the World”? In Save the World you play a hero who wants to find out what the mysterious storm is all about, which is peeling off people’s skin and turning them into mindless zombies.

You have the choice between four classes with special stats and talents:

  • Soldiers – fighters who can quickly and purposefully thin out herds of zombies
  • Constructors – builders who can build guns and force fields for fortresses
  • Ninjas – Agile fighters who can attack from the air and do more damage in close combat
  • Explorers – Creative heroes who can create trap towers or robots that support you in battle

Depending on your selection, the main objective will be to collect resources, defend areas or rescue survivors. You build fortresses from collected materials and build your own weapons using plans you have found.

But in winter there is a special event called “Frostnite”. Since Chapter 3 has changed some of the way the Battle Pass works, the relaxed slaughter of the zombies is even more worthwhile.

Kill zombies and level up your Battle Pass

Thanks to the change in Chapter 3, you can also level your Battle Pass outside of the Battle Royals. That means, if the stressful everyday life in PvP has robbed you of the last nerve, you can take a relaxed game of Frostnite with your friends.

That’s the important boiler and a blue BluGlo around it

It is your job to ensure that the BluGlo boiler does not go out. That’s why you’re trying to find a blue fuel called BluGlo in the surrounding area. This is how you supply the boiler, because if it goes out, you will freeze to death this winter.

Zombies don’t make your survival easier because they want to destroy the furnace. Between rounds you have time to arm yourself, find new weapons and build a fortress around the boiler to protect it. If too many zombies get to the stove, you lose.

Once you’ve built a base, you have to survive as long as you can. Above all, team play and coordination are required. Strategies can be optimally discussed in your voice chat. The longer you survive, the more rewards you will get towards the end of a game. The cool thing is that despite the PvE mode, you can level your Battle Pass very casually.

What else can you do in RdW? The main objective in Fortnite’s PvE mode is to collect resources, defend areas or rescue survivors. You build fortresses from collected materials and build your own weapons using plans you have found. If you complete missions successfully, you will be rewarded with materials and can continue in the story.

You follow a map that reveals itself to you bit by bit. If you are not in the mood for endless zombie rounds, you can also complete the missions of the main or side quests. So you also get XP for your Battle Pass.

How much does RdW cost? Save the world now costs € 15.99 in the Playstation Shop and is currently only available through starter packs. The latest package is called “Robo-Kevin Package” and includes:

  • The outfit and the hero “Robo-Kevin”
  • The back accessory “Surr”
  • Die Spitzhacke “Power-Spitzhacke”
  • Access to Save the World
  • Robo Kevin Challenges: Earn up to 1,000 V-Bucks and X-ray tickets through daily tasks

So if you decide to switch off a bit from the stressful PvP everyday life of Fortnite, a few relaxed rounds with friends in RdW would be just right for you.

What do you think of Fortnite’s PvE mode? Do you think it’s cool and play it now and then or is that not for you and prefer the action in the Battle Royal?
