Pokémon GO: New Years Event brings egg bonuses and 15 costume Pokémon

In Pokémon GO, the New Year’s event starts in a few days. Niantic has now announced what the event will bring. We’ll show you all the bonuses and content as well as costume Pokémon that you can catch during the event.

What kind of event is that? To celebrate the change into the new year 2022 with you, there is a party in Pokémon GO. There will be costumes and fireworks. Plus event bonuses for everything to do with hatching eggs, special research, limited research and avatar articles.

In this overview we show you all the event content for the New Year’s event 2021/2022 in Pokémon GO.

New Year Event 2021 – Start, Shinys, Costumes, Bonuses

When does it start? The event starts on Friday, December 31st at 10:00 p.m. and runs until January 4, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. The times refer to the local time.

New research: The special research on the season of origin with Spark will be continued. Also, to celebrate the New Year, there is a Temporary Research where you can catch Pokémon that are wearing costumes.

Map changes: You will see fireworks in the game. This runs from December 31 at 11:00 p.m. to January 2 at midnight.

Event-Bonus: The bonuses of the event revolve around hatching eggs. You will receive double hatching stardust and double hatching candy. In addition, the distance you need to hatch eggs is reduced to half.

Costume Pokémon: For the New Year’s Eve party, the Pokémon dress up in Pokémon GO. New this year are Hoothoot New year shoot New Year’s hat and slow-smoking with 2022 glasses. You can also find dazzling hoothoots – after the event you will still find dazzling hoothoots, but without a costume.
