Bluetooth is a technology that limits the quality of AirPods
This year 2021, Apple has launched two new AirPods models. The Max and the third edition of their original headphones. Considering they are a best seller, it could be so much better. Why? Because the quality of its audio and its performance could be much more powerful, much better, but at the moment it cannot be due to the limitations of the technology it uses to connect with other devices: The Bluetooth. At least that’s how the person responsible for the manufacture of these devices, Gary Geaves, tells us.
Gary Geaves claims than bluetooth it is a technology that limits the potential of AirPods. In his own words:
Obviously, wireless technology is critical in order to deliver the highest quality audio content. However, you also have to take into account things like the amount of latency you get when you move your head. If that is too long, and if the sound changes or remains static, it will make you feel quite dizzy. This is why we have to focus a lot on getting the most out of Bluetooth technology, and there are a number of tricks we can play to maximize or circumvent some of its limits. But it’s fair to say that we’d like more bandwidth and… I’ll stop right there. We would like more bandwidth.
The last sentence, in which you say you would like more bandwidth, refers to the ability to connect between different devices in order to unleash the full potential of spatial audio and lossless audio. But it seems that current technology prevents it. In that same sentence, the possibility that Apple may be working on a new wireless connection system that he can shelve the one that already exists and that is already 32 years behind him.
In summary: Bluetooth may be causing limitations to the quality of AirPods and Apple is expected to launch a new form of communication that is capable of squeezing 100% of the quality of them.
