ESO Christmas Magic – Community of the MMORPG collects over € 19,000 for the homeless

The Elder Scrolls Online community is not only known to be very warm and helpful in Tamriel. From 12/17/21 to 12/18/21 there were numerous charity streams from many ESO streamers. The project: collecting donations for the homeless in the Christmas spirit. Here you can find out who the community and we streamers have reached together.

For many, Christmas in particular is a time of giving. However, some people are repeatedly neglected or are currently in a bad situation. With the event, we streamers simply wanted to weaken this stark contrast a bit and instead strengthen the togetherness.

I speak of “us streamers” because I was allowed to be part of the project and to participate in the action with my streams. The whole action was originally initiated by the Arkays Charity Event last year. Part of this year’s team has already participated in a fundraising campaign for the German Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Since the Arkays Charity Event doesn’t take place every year, our team member Alex had the wonderful idea of simply organizing his own event. At first the idea was only in the chat of the official ESO stream team (DE), but we decided very quickly to bring more ESO streamers on board.

Everyone who participated took on a task for the campaign and so we were able to start the event with all of our strengths. You can find out which streamers have otherwise participated in the following. Our ESO Community Manager Kai Schober and all of our mods also contributed.

What were donations collected for? Tafel Germany e. V. and Berliner Homeless Aid e. V.

The fundraising campaign has now ended, but you can still see the donation amount and details about the event (via betterplace.org).

Our intention was to especially support people who are having a hard time financially. Homeless people in particular are often not doing well during the Christmas season, while the image of Christmas is often a nice get-together with the family in the cozy living room under the Christmas tree.

For many, however, this is not even possible in reality. We wanted to take a small step in the right direction and thank everyone who contributed!

ESO streamers collect over € 17,000 in their streams on Twitch

The following streamers streamed at full speed for a good cause over a weekend:

In a total of 22 streams from Friday, December 17th, 21st to Sunday, December 19th, 21st, donations totaling over € 17,000 were collected. I was speechless in between, none of us had expected that. Especially in view of the pandemic, we had rather shy expectations.

It is incredibly nice to see that many people have the strength and the will to be helpful even in difficult times.

The joint end of the event brings everyone together again

On December 19, 21 at 10:00 p.m. (almost) all participating streamers and community manager Kai Schober came together in Discord. Some streams ran in parallel. Anyone who felt like it was invited to a group and was able to take part in the recordings with their ESO character.

We didn’t count the exact number, but there were an incredible number of players, so our meeting caused a sensation. First in Gramfeste, the capital of Deshaan and finally in Eldenwurz, the capital of Grahtwald. In the chat, many players asked astonished “What’s going on here?” and were thus made aware of the event.

As in the previous year at the Arkays Charity Event, we last met on a walkable mushroom ledge on the giant Eldenwurz tree and took great group photos.

“ESOFam is and remains the best! You can’t say otherwise. ” – says @Fufuns in this video and I think I can only join in again and again.

Bethesda makes a proud contribution to the donations

A huge thank you to Bethesda for adding another 10% to our collected donations. I didn’t expect that myself and I’m thrilled to see how much charity campaigns are appreciated in the community.

In addition, I personally have to say that I think that’s really great. Bethesda had already participated in the event with numerous giveaways and this generous donation at the end of the event is not a matter of course and for me an expression of the closeness of the company and its employees to the community.

The board thanks you on Twitter for the fundraising campaign

A huge smile crossed my face when I discovered the thank you from Tafel Deutschland eV on Twitter. So our project did not go entirely undiscovered. It’s nice to see that we made some people happy.

We wish everyone a happy new year 2022!
