WoW: 2022 is no fun – the dark moon fair is simply gone

The year 2022 starts with a small glitch in World of Warcraft – because an event just doesn’t start. The fair is still on vacation.

The new year has started and it will hopefully be a more successful one for World of Warcraft than the previous one. But right at the start there was a small glitch, because the Darkmoon Fair has apparently passed its mission. Many ask themselves: what is going on there?

What happened? Actually, the Darkmoon Fair should already be active and give the players additional buffs on experience points and reputation gains. But whoever wanted to cross the portal in the forest of Elwynn or Mulgore this morning (January 2nd, 2022) beaming with joy, was bitterly disappointed. Because apparently the operators of the fair are still in the process of sleeping off their New Years frenzy.

When should the fair always appear? The fair follows a fixed pattern and always appears on the best dates – that is the 1st Sunday of every month, up to and including the following Saturday. So you have exactly one week to enjoy activities such as special quests, mini-games or performances by in-game music groups. There are also a variety of transmog rewards, such as clothing in the colors of the old “T 0.5” set. There are also lots of toys.

What’s going on there? There is a high probability that this is a bug. Presumably the “start triggers” for events have to be entered manually and that was simply forgotten at the dark moon fair. It can be assumed that the error will be fixed in the coming days and that the fair will then start with a delay.

This can also be checked in the in-game calendar of World of Warcraft. All entries for the year 2022 are simply missing there for the Darkmoon Fair.

The fact that the error still exists after a few hours is probably due to the fact that it is Sunday and usually the work of most people – including the developer – does not really get going again until Monday.

The error will probably be fixed in a few days.
