What is a spotlight hour? Every Tuesday an event of this kind starts in Pokémon GO. For one hour, you’ll find the Pokémon in the spotlight almost everywhere in the wilderness. This is accompanied by a bonus that can give you more candy, experience points or stardust.

Today, the fifth generation of the game’s Pokémon Monocyto is in the spotlight. It is a Psychic Pokémon and can evolve into Mitodos and then into Zytomega in turn.

Spotlight Lesson with Monozyto – Start, Bonuses and Shiny

When does the event start? As always, the starting gun will be given at 6:00 p.m. local time. The spotlight hour is then active for one hour and ends at 7:00 p.m. local time.

What bonuses are there? During the event, you will find Monocyto almost everywhere in the wilderness. When you light a smoke, it also spawns mostly monocytes. The event is accompanied by a candy bonus. For sending Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of candy.

Note that the Candy Bonus counts for all types of Pokémon you send. Not just for monocytes.

Can you catch shiny monocytes? No, so far you cannot find or catch Shiny Monozyto in Pokémon GO.

Is it worth taking the spotlight lesson with Monocyto?

This is how strong it is: We looked at the combat values ​​of Monozyto and the advancements Mitodos and Zytomega. Unfortunately, none of the Pokémon are so strong that they can prove themselves in PvP against other trainers or in PvE against raid bosses.

As a psycho-attacker, Zytomega is in direct competition with Mewtwo and Shadow-Mewtwo, who secure the first two places by far. That is why Monocyto, Mitodos and Zytomega are more something for collectors who want to complete their PokéDex.

It could be worth it: If you have collected Pokémon from previous events and have not yet sent them, then you can use the event and concentrate on the candy bonus.

So you can also use the event to do raids and send weak legendary Pokémon and collect coveted candy.
