Hanseatischer Fechtclub Lübeck starts the new year with three tournaments

The Hanseatic Fechtclub Lübeck starts the new year on Sunday (January 9th) in the Burgfeldhalle with three tournaments: the turret tournament for the youngsters starts at 9.30 a.m. and the competitions of the ranking tournament Holstentorklinge and the Lübeck saber tournament for the age groups U9 start at 1 p.m. up to U17.

More than 120 fencers expected in Lübeck

The interest of the participants is – like the seven towers tournament in September – big. Around 120 fencers from 18 clubs from nine federal states and two clubs from Denmark are expected on the twelve lanes. For the first time, the clubs from Cottbus and Radebeul as well as from Marburg with strong offspring will be there. 24 starters are registered for the host HFCL.

With a mask and distance, fencing is considered to be corona-compliant, but spectators are not permitted. Only 50 parents are allowed to sit on the upper tier, the hall is reserved for the active players, coaches, supervisors and referees according to a certain number key. The athletes must follow the 2G rules, those responsible have agreed the measures with the state sports association. HFCL presents new flag

Not only the date of the competition in Lübeck is new (the date was brought forward for organizational reasons), but also an own HFCL flag, with which St. Nicholas surprised the club members at the Christmas party in December. She will get a place of honor in the flag leash, with which the Burgfeldhalle is always adorned at home tournaments.
