CoD 2022: Highrise, Terminal and Co. reportedly return in Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is making a return, apparently as CoD 2022.

Call of Duty 2022 will simply be called Modern Warfare II, continue Modern Warfare from 2019 and bring back some of the most popular multiplayer maps ever. At least so far, most leaks and rumors agree on this. A recent leak seems to confirm this again. Accordingly, the fan favorite maps Highrise, Quarry, Terminal and Favela are also returning.

New leak apparently confirms the return of the most popular Call of Duty maps

This is what it’s about: A new Call of Duty will almost certainly appear in 2022 as well. If the rumors and leaks are true, it is a direct sequel to the soft reboot Modern Warfare (2019). Unsurprisingly, the new part is supposed to be called Modern Warfare II and only loosely related to the game of the same name from 2009 – if at all.

Are fan favorite maps returning? Most likely yes. At least all of the leaks so far have hit the same horn: Apparently, with the next Call of Duty 2022, a new Battle Royale map awaits us, which is again made up of popular multiplayer maps. In addition, according to rumors, many map classics will also return in normal multiplayer.

More precisely, these are the following maps, if the latest leak is right:

  • Highrise
  • Quarry
  • Slum
  • Terminal

How likely is that? It now seems very likely that this prediction will be correct. ModernWarzone is always well informed and has been proven right several times when it comes to Call of Duty forecasts. But otherwise the whole thing just sounds very coherent and fits in well with the way Activision and the associated Call of Duty developer studios have proceeded so far. They all say that:

These are the best CoD maps: With the help of strictly scientific procedures (a lot of games!) We have classified our very personal favorite maps of all Call of Duty titles in a large, absolutely mandatory and only true GamePro ranking:

In addition to all of this, the quasi-remaster of Modern Warfare 2 also seems to be the reason why the multiplayer remaster never happened. That would have worked well with the remaster campaign that was released some time ago and there have been rumors about it over and over again. But now the work is likely to flow into the next major Call of Duty.

How do you like the maps, what do you want and which CoD maps are your absolute favorites?
