What do you see in the clip?

- One player raises the musket, like in a shooter, and attacks 2 players who are guarding a flag. He regularly switches to hand-to-hand combat, where he acts with a rapier and rolls around like mad.
- The musket man, dressed in gray and with a slouch hat, dominates his two somewhat inexperienced opponents, who seem surprised that they are actually attacking in PvP. He comes across as casual and triumphs in the end.

What makes the clip so special? In the clip you can see the “power fantasy” that New World originally promised. A unique spin in the MMORPG genre through the mix of musket and rapier, these are weapons from eras that are otherwise rarely found in MMORPGs, because they deviate from the typical “fantasy” scheme of sword, bow and ax.
This “musketeer” -like acting is actually exactly the attraction that the unusual setting of New World exuded when Amazon introduced the game a few years ago. Over time, however, the setting was watered down for reasons of political correctness.

What is reducing the impact of the clip? Well, in the comments on reddit, of course, the experts speak up, who are of course perfect in PvP. They emphasize that the musket man’s opponents are not acting first class.
- Says one user: “These two had no idea how to play PvP. I can’t understand why a player with ax and shield doesn’t hang directly in your face. “
- “Why a player with a great ax and shield apparently runs around in medium armor without stamina is even more puzzling to me. Looks like the guy might have a maximum of 7000 hitpoints. “
- Another Reddit comment with relish takes apart the archer’s gaming behavior. He has “little experience” and is likely to be new.
A fourth calls the opponent “paper opponents”, a fifth says that this is “a musket player’s dream”, a sixth says: “Well, actually it was just a 1v1”, the other player is in a panic expired and actually didn’t do anything.
The power fantasy of New World is quickly torpedoed when the reddit experts explain to you that your outstanding kill clip was not because of your great way of playing, but because the opponents were just windfall.
