Twitch disgusts his golden boy – is he getting the “DrDisrespect” treatment?
The gaming streamer Ludwig Ahgren was considered Twitch’s “golden boy” in 2021 and a big climber on the streaming platform. He made a name for himself with a huge event over a month in April 2021. But after his move to competitor YouTube, he no longer seems to be well-liked on Twitch. He could now face a similar fate as DrDisrespect: The former favorite of Twitch simply no longer takes place on the platform.
Who is Ludwig?
- The 26-year-old actually comes from the fighting game Super Smash Bros., but he has been a huge Twitch fan since his youth, who had admired people like shroud for ages and dreamed of becoming “a big name” on the platform. Ludwig once paid $ 43,000 just to be allowed to play with shroud for an hour.
- In fact, the American managed to become one of the most important and innovative Twitch streamers in 2021. Ludwig took every trend with him and even shaped it himself, and talked continuously about it. His highlight was a month-long marathon stream that was fueled by paid subscriptions, the subs. With the stream he took in $ 1.3 million and broke the “sub-record” of Ninja from his Fortnite high-flying times.
- But 2021 was not only the high point of Ludwig’s Twitch career, it was also the end. He switched to the YouTube platform because he felt “not loved enough” by Twitch. He said he did love Twitch, but not enough love was coming back.

What’s going on now When he left, Ludwig complained about being “too cool” with him. Twitch didn’t fight enough for him, he said, sounding like a disappointed lover.
The mood between him and his “old Falmme” Twitch seems to have cooled down a few degrees since then.
Ludwig noticed on December 16. a bit contrite for not showing up in Twitch’s Annual Review. Although he was objectively one of the most important Twitch streamers in 2021, he was completely absent there.
Twitch had simply erased him from history.
Now, in a conversation between Ludwig and the streamer “TheStockGuy”, it came out that Twitch had apparently rejected him elsewhere.
“TheStockyGuy”, a stock exchange specialist on the platform, did an interview show on Twitch, suggesting guests for the show, but Twitch had to approve the interview partners.
As the highlight and finale of the show, he wanted to invite Ludwig. After all, he was one of the biggest and most important creators on Twitch. But that didn’t go so well:
“Did I tell you what went on with Twitch? […] We didn’t have anyone for the last episode, so I said: I’ll bring Ludwig, let’s see if he comes. […] Last episode, we’re going out with a big bang. You come to me and say: That’s a no!
I ask: “What do you mean, that’s a no, Ludwig cannot come? It’s not been banned. He just left Twitch. You parted on good terms. They say: no.
I say: I won’t do this without Ludwig. So they go back to the boss’s floor, come back and say: “No”
This is behind it: Twitch seems to have strange policies with people who consciously or forcibly leave the site. This is noticeable:
- After changing their biggest streamer in 2019, Ninja, their Twitch page was used to advertise other streamers until Ninja publicly complained about it because they were promoting porn streams.
- For streamers who are banned from Twitch, tough rules apply, as you can see especially with DrDisrespect. It is no longer allowed to take place on Twitch. It is even cut out of “award shows” to be on the safe side because people fear Twitch’s revenge.
- With Ludwig, too, Twitch now seems to be taking a weird stance and simply saying “no” without further explanation.
Apparently the following applies to Twitch: “If you leave us as a big star, you no longer exist for us.” Although it has to be said that they took repentant streamers like shroud or ninja back with a kiss.
