Ubisoft +: subscription service is also available for Xbox consoles with over 100 games

Ubisoft’s extensive game library can for the most part also be obtained as a subscription on the PC – and Ubisoft + will soon also be available on the Xbox.

Ubisoft is also bringing its own subscription service called Ubisoft + to consoles. However, for the time being only on the Xbox, as the publisher and developer has now announced. This means that, just like with the Xbox Game Pass, you will soon be able to simply pay a certain monthly amount for Ubisoft titles and get access to a huge collection of games. So far, the subscription is only available for the PC and Google Stadia, but soon you can also play games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Far Cry 6 on your Xbox with a Ubisoft subscription.

Sexism Issues at Ubisoft: The French developer and publisher has been accused of having a toxic corporate culture since July 2020. Including far-reaching sexism problems, misogyny and discrimination, which should be deeply anchored in the company. Although Ubisoft has already drawn the necessary steps, for example, management level employees have been exchanged and the allegations have been openly commented on, many employees in the company do not consider these measures to be sufficient.

Ubisoft brings its own subscription service Ubisoft + to the Xbox

What is Ubisoft +? Ubisoft + is the giant publisher’s in-house game subscription. Just like with EA Play, Game Pass or Netflix, you pay a monthly price to get unlimited access to a large selection of titles. You can play it as long as you pay for the subscription, but you are not allowed to keep it after you cancel.

Soon also on Xbox: Revealed in a major announcement Ubisoftthat the subscription service Ubisoft + (formerly Uplay +) will soon also be available on consoles. However, we are only talking about the Xbox for now. The Xbox consoles were not specified in more detail, but we are assuming Xbox Series S / X and Xbox One.

We know that so far about Ubisoft + on Xbox:

When is Ubisoft + coming? An official launch date for the Ubisoft subscription on console has not yet been revealed.

What does the fun cost? That has also not been announced yet. Ubisoft + is available in two versions on the PC, one with and one without access to cloud gaming with Google Stadia. The cheaper version costs 14.99 euros.

What about PS4 and PS5? It was not commented on whether the Ubisoft subscription will also be available on PS4 and PS5 at some point. We think it is rather unlikely for the time being, because Ubisoft and Microsoft have apparently entered into a rather extensive cooperation that not only includes Ubisoft +, but also the Xbox Game Pass.

Cooperation with Game Pass: In the same breath, Ubisoft announces that Rainbow Six Extraction will also appear in the Xbox Game Pass right at the launch. This means that you don’t have to pay extra for one of the first really big co-op shooters of 2022 if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription. You can find more about this in this GamePro article:

Which games are available on subscription? It is not yet possible to say one hundred percent whether all 132 Ubisoft + games to date will also be available on Xbox. Titles like Anno 1800 should almost certainly not be included, because simply no console version of them exists. But the following are almost certainly also included in the Ubisoft + subscription on the Xbox:

Ubisoft + on Xbox: That could be otherwise

In addition to the main games Ubisoft + subscribers will also get access to the various Season Pass content and DLCs on their PC. There are also special goodies such as monthly rewards in the form of cosmetic in-game items, boosters and more. It shouldn’t be any different on the Xbox either.

Also exciting are the Ubisoft rewards, which you get in the form of points for achieving certain achievements and which you can even spend on games or DLCs. But here, too, the following applies: Do not be too early, because the subscription service in detail and how exactly Ubisoft + will look on the Xbox has not yet been revealed.

What do you think of Ubisoft +? Are you interested in the subscription or is the Game Pass enough for you?
