Steam now has a new most wanted game – and it offers a co-op mode

Players like to add upcoming games to their Steam wishlist before they are released. This way you can see which games the players are looking forward to the most in advance. Now, at the start of 2022, there’s a new game at the top – for the first time in 1 year. The game also has a lot to offer for people who are interested in co-op.

What happened? Since the release of Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020, one game has dominated the top of the wishlist charts on Steam. Throughout 2021, the most anticipated title for Steam players was Dying Light 2

At the beginning of 2022, however, the zombie game was overthrown after 12 months. No specific numbers are given, but one thing is clear: Elden Ring is now the most requested game on Steam.

Dying Light 2 has slipped to 2nd place. Places 3 to 5 are taken by Party Animals, God of War and Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Elden Ring has multiplayer with co-op and PvP

What kind of game is this? Elden Ring is the latest game from FromSoftware, the developers of the popular and tough “Dark Souls” series. Her latest game also relies on intense sword fights and crisp bosses. The game world to be explored is this time open world. George RR Martin – the author of “Game of Thrones” – is also involved in the story of Elden Ring.

What’s in multiplayer? Like most recent FromSoftware games, Elden Ring is back to multiplayer in the form of co-op and PvP battles. The co-op is much easier to use than in previous FromSoftware games, with fewer restrictions.

So you can start the co-op much easier than in the “Dark Souls” games, and explore the open world almost completely. Fights against difficult bosses are also possible in co-op.

Thanks to the notoriously high level of difficulty of the Souls makers, this co-op mode can be very useful. So you can team up with up to 2 other players to tackle the dungeons and bosses.

Elden Ring also has a lot to offer for PvP fans. As in the “Dark Souls” games, players will be able to launch invasions – or fall victim to them. With invasions you can penetrate into the worlds of other players in order to challenge them to duels or to kill under deviousness.

Players can also split into factions and groups that are similar to guilds from classic MMOs. This makes it easier for Elden Ring players to come together, exchange information and play against or with one another more easily.

Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022. You can then get it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S play. Alone, in co-op, or against each other in PvP.
