This is the open world video game that a Valencian town has created to promote its parties

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the miracle of San Onofre, Quart de Poblet, a town in Valencia, has designed a video game that will allow us to enjoy their parties without leaving home, through a rather striking character.

The objective of the City Council and the Association dels Amics de la Passejà with this video game is mainly promote La Passejà, a procession in which the people pay homage to the patron by walking him at night and accompanying him with the lights of the rockets.

The result is a game for all audiences that transfer the player to the town as it was a hundred years ago. With a 360º vision of the environment and a reliable recreation made thanks to the photographs provided by neighbors, it brings the culture and centuries-old traditions closer to the youngest.

As for the video game, the player becomes an alien that comes from the future and travels to the last century to discover why San Onofre has so much power (the neighbors begged in 1723 to end the drought so as not to lose their crops). Ultimately, the mission entrusted to this being is to discover the secret of La Passejà.

When his ship lands, the alien needs to infiltrate the people who take care of San Onofre. The first thing you have to do is dress like them and get different typical outfits.

Once equipped, you have to rebuild the figure of the Saint with pieces that are hidden throughout the town. The best of all comes at the end, and that is when you complete the game La Passejà de Sant Onofre will be activated that will go from the Hermitage to the Parish of the Immaculate Conception and you will be able to experience its atmosphere with fireworks, typical music … etc.

The video game is work of Javier González and computer scientist Carlos Villalba and can be downloaded for free In the following link.

With all this, citizens will be able to discover and remember places that have already disappeared like the Palau del Marqués de Tremolar or the old Town Hall building. You can also enjoy the Hermitage of San Onofre or the train station.
