What happens when you equip cows with gaming technology? An animal breeder tried it and presented the surprising results.

That happened: A Turkish cattle farmer has equipped his cows with VR technology. Because in the harsh winter the cows have to stand in the cowshed. But the cattle farmer wondered what would happen if he pretended to the animals that they were actually standing in the meadow?

With VR technology, cows give more milk and are less stressed

The Turkish breeder Izzet Kocak developed the devices together with veterinarians so that the devices fit exactly on the cow’s head (via kotaku.com). This is also to ensure that nothing can happen to the cows. In total, he had equipped two cows with such VR devices for his test.

What is the result? The farmer can certainly rate the result as a success:

• The milk production of the VR cows has increased from 22 to 27 liters per day.

What does all of this have to do with gaming? VR glasses are mainly used in the gaming sector. Because the VR glasses create a virtual world in which the player can really immerse himself. Equipping animals with VR is not a new invention

The idea of ​​using VR to improve animal production is actually not new. The Russian government had already tested VR technology with cows in 2019. The main purpose of this was to increase milk production in Russia in order to circumvent certain sanctions on EU food.
