How to blur more (or less) the background of iPhone portraits
If you don’t know how to more or less blur your photos taken with Portrait mode, here are some very useful tips.
Among all the applications of our iPhone we usually use one of them with quite often: the camera. Although it is true that we do not use it “professionally” on a daily basis, many of us know the function Portrait of the camera.
This function focuses directly on an object blurring the rest. However, there are times when you want to blur the background more or less. For this you do not need any other third-party application.
There are of the shapes to do so: from the Camera application itself or from the Photos application.
1. From the Camera app
- Open the app Camera on your iPhone.
- Select the option below Portrait.
- In the upper right corner, click on the “f“circled.
- It will now appear above the trigger (the white circle below) multiple lines with the word DEPTH.
- Moving it to the left (up to 1.4 f) to obtain the maximum blur or to right (up to 16 f) for a blur minimum.
2. From the Photos app
- Open the app Photos on your iPhone.
- Choose the photo you want to blur the background. Remember that you had to take the photo with the option to Portrait.
- To search for old or recent photos taken with a portrait press below the Albums and then in Pictures.
- In the upper right corner click Edit.
- Now click on it “f“with the circle at the top left.
- You will get the same ones again lines to adjust the DEPTH. Shifting it to the left (up to 1.4 f) for maximum blur or right (up to 16 f) for minimal blur.
And this is how we can choose the perfect background gradient for our photos. Remember that if you take a photo in portrait mode and then you don’t like the result, you can always edit it in the Photos app.
