NVIDIA announced yesterday that it had new game drivers and an update for its GeForce Experience program. And while it seemed that everything was aimed at improving the gaming experience of God of War on PC, the update came with a surprise that we did not see coming.

As explained in their official blog, NVIDIA’s next driver update will include an artificial intelligence-enhanced version of Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR), something that has been available in GeForce drivers for many years.

This new AI-based technology is what the company calls Dynamic Deep Learning Super Resolution (DLDSR). Which uses neural networks that require fewer input pixels to scale the images. So we can achieve better quality with fewer resources.

NVIDIA explains on his blog that DLDSR renders a game at a higher, more detailed resolution before cleverly reducing the result to the resolution of your monitor. This downsampling method improves image quality by enhancing details and softening edges.

DLDSR improves on traditional DSR by requiring fewer input pixels, which makes the image quality of DLDSR 2.25X comparable to DSR 4X, but with a higher performance in terms of FPS, they assure from the company.
