This is the reimagining of the Prince of Bel-Air that opens next month

It was the fashionable series in the 90s and now, 30 years later, it seems that it wants to resurface with a somewhat different interpretation of a work that at the time was clear comedy with touches of social criticism.

If you are one of those who have gray hair, or at least one of those in their thirties, I notice that the name of Will Smith or The Prince of Bel-Air sounds familiar to you. It is not for less.

This series that brought together millions of people every week hooked from the first moment thanks to a very absurd humor, an actor who had more charisma than half Hollywood at that time and because, honestly, it represented all that was right and wrong about American culture.

The prince of Bel Air It was a success of the 90s and for three decades the series has been reappearing on all televisions. Now, in the middle of 2022, we get a reinterpretation of it from the hand of its main star, Will Smith, who has been cooking since 2015.

The point is that this new series is telling from a very different point of view, although the narrator is still Will Smith himself (character, not actor, we remind you that in the original series the name of the character was the same as the actor who played him).

And we say that The point of view is very different because the series seems to have a much more serious tone, like a drama series, where the jokes that were veiled criticisms of American society are now serious enough to sustain the plot on their own.

On February 13, it will be broadcast on the Peacock channel., which is the streaming service of the audiovisual company NBC Universal.

The pity is that in Spain we still have no idea how it will be seen legally, but we hope that they will soon announce what service will be done with the rights.
