The 3 alternatives to the notch that the iPhone 14 could use
It seems that the iPhone 14 will definitely eliminate the notch and these are the 3 most likely alternatives.
The rumors seem to have it clear and the end of the notch on the iPhone is near. Everything seems to indicate that the iPhone 14 will completely eliminate the notch, replacing it with a hole option on the screen, and there are several alternatives that are being considered.
Most Android phones have a circular hole-punch screen for the front camera, but Apple has all the sensores de Face ID in the notch, so this alternative may not be easy to implement. However, Apple could be considering 3 different options to replace the notch.
The 3 options to replace the notch on the iPhone 14
Everyone we want an iPhone without a notch and with the camera and sensors included under the screen, but that is something that current technology does not allow and that will not arrive, at the earliest, until the iPhone 15. Therefore, we must settle for a hole in the screen to place all this technology, and right now we have 3 options that apple can use on your iPhone 14.
Option 1: circular hole for the camera and Face ID sensors under the screen
Probably the most aesthetic and hidden, but also the least likely. On the one hand, We are not clear that the sensors that Face ID allows can be placed under the panel, something that could rule out this option at the moment. And on the other hand, perhaps this is a solution that is too similar to Android smartphones, something that would take personality away from the iPhone and would make it less recognizable.
Option 2: double hole for the camera and some Face ID sensors
It’s one of the latest rumors and it makes a lot of sense. This double hole in screen would solve the two problems of the first option: We have space for Face ID sensors and a completely unique look that no other smartphone on the market has, it would make the iPhone 14 very recognizable.
Option 3: elongated hole where all the sensors and the camera would fit
A more aesthetic option, in my opinion, which would maintain the symmetry of the device. This elongated pill-shaped hole also has room for the camera and Face ID sensors, and it’s a pretty unique design that we haven’t seen on other devices. It could certainly give the iPhone 14 a recognizable style.
We don’t know which of these options Apple will end up using, maybe I’ll opt for others that we haven’t even considered. But what does seem clear at this point is that, at least the iPhone 14 Pro, will definitely eliminate the notch. A step that many users are looking forward to and that Apple will take at the end of 2022.
