Weapon crafting is the next big feature in Destiny 2 – we know that

In Destiny 2, you will soon be able to forge weapons yourself at the start of Witch Queen. However, the new system should stand out completely from other crafting systems. We at MeinMMO show you what you should know about it.

What will weapon crafting in Destiny 2 be? Bungie previously announced details of a new system in Destiny. With this you are able to forge your own weapons thanks to resources and adapt them to your needs.

You can create your own god rolls and don’t have to play an activity up and down unnecessarily until you finally get your said roll.

However, the crafting should differ from other MMOs. So you will not be able to push your weapon to the maximum immediately, but you must first gain experience with it.

Weapons tailored to your playstyle

How are the weapons currently made? Weapons have always been pre-made in Destiny 1 and 2. They were obtained as activity rewards and could only be upgraded. But that should work out Change Witch Queen. You will have the opportunity to be the master of your own god roll.

This is what the altar for your god rolls to forge on will look like

Many Warden toys were collectible and did not have their own character. But that should change with a forged weapon.

Important information to know:

  • Crafting lets you customize weapons
  • Desired perks can be added or replaced
  • Weapons must be leveled up through “experience”.
  • New resources are needed to build
  • New Weapon Type – Glaive will be buildable

This is how the forge will work: How the forge will work is still unclear, but some information regarding the weapons built and the materials are known.

If you cobble together a weapon, it must also be fed with the necessary experience points. These are credited in the form of frequent use of your weapon. This will show you that you are an expert with your chosen gun.

So you can’t just start with a gun in the God-Roll, you have to shoot your way through to becoming an expert bit by bit. However, once you’ve achieved that, you can swap out any available perk and shape your weapon however you like.

It is also valued that new players have the same opportunities to build such weapons as hardcore players. Existing resource pools from Wardens are ignored and cannot be used in the Forge.

What do you think of the upcoming weapon crafting? Do you also think this will be the highlight of Witch Queen? Or is that not for you and you rather stick to the random rolls from the activities? Let us know!
