Mysterious development bug fascinates trainers in Pokémon GO

In Pokémon GO, the trainers keep complaining about annoying errors in the game. Now, however, there was a mysterious development bug that fascinated the reddit community and was celebrated by the players. We at MeinMMO have looked at what this is all about and show you the reactions of the trainers.

What is it about? The trainers in Pokémon GO keep encountering various bugs during daily play. Whether it’s annoying issues in raids and PvP battles, or broken visuals like that cool broken snail mag a trainer caught a few days ago, the list of bugs is long.

And the reddit user bringmethespacebar also had to make such an experience and experienced a “mysterious” bug in the game in the truest sense of the word. He shares a screenshot of his Seamops development preview with the reddit community, showing him a very special monster.

Which monster is hiding behind the mysterious bug?

As seen in bringmethespacebar’s reddit post, he wanted to develop his shiny sea pug. Its first evolution is Seejong, which should normally be displayed on the right side of the preview. Instead, Pokémon GO shows him the shadow of Jirachi at this position.

What kind of Pokemon is Jirachi? Jirachi is a 3rd generation Mysterious Pokémon that belongs to the Steel and Psychic type. The monster does not have any advance or further development.

Like most Mythical Pokemon, Jirachi is not that easy to get in Pokemon GO. You can currently only find it in the special research “A Thousand Year Sleep”. This makes it correspondingly rare.

For this reason, the reddit community is now particularly fascinated by this error and is of course eagerly awaiting whether bringmethespacebar will get such a rare specimen as a result.

Community Reactions

First and foremost, most trainers naturally wanted to know under the reddit post whether bringmethespacebar actually got the Jirachi by triggering its development. As Sir_Atro_Dwarvenhine writes: “Did it happen to work?” (reddit.com).

Reddit user moodsareflaccid also gives him credit for giving it a try and developing Seemops, along with a few others: “I mean, that’s a good deal. I would take it” (via reddit.com).

After keeping the reddit community waiting for some time, bringmethespacebar announced in the comments that it didn’t work. He writes: “It’s a bug, it has evolved into a normal seajong.” (via reddit.com).

However, some Trainers still celebrate this bug in the comments and joke about how this monster came about. In addition, they even give the supposedly new further development of Seemops its own name by combining the English names of Seejong (Sealeo) and Jirachi (Jirachi) (via reddit.com):

  • Bucket_Lord_Jim asks, “Is this how mysterious Pokemon are born? Failed Evolutions?”
  • Xavierjpg0909: “I didn’t know you could play Pokemon GO with random number generator enabled.”
  • Valuable_Ad_5178: “Jiraseal”
  • Insaniac1: “Sealechi”

Even if no Jirachi was created from Seemops in the end, the trainers in the comments were clearly enjoying this mysterious development bug.

Do you find this error in the development preview as fascinating as the reddit community? Or do you just find these bugs annoying? And have you perhaps had such display errors yourself? Feel free to write us your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.

There’s a lot coming up in Pokémon GO in the coming weeks. We will show you which events await you in January and which are particularly worthwhile.
