Airline Ratings has revealed its list of the 10 safest low-cost airlines in the world for 2022. Three US airlines make the list, including Allegiant Air, Frontier Airlines and JetBlue Airways.

Airline Ratings, the airline safety and product review website, has announced its list of the 10 safest low-cost airlines for 2022.

The classification website, based in Australia, publishes an annual list in which they stand out the safest airlines in the world, focusing on factors such as accident and incident records, audits, European Union prohibition lists, fleet age and COVID-19 protocols.

The top 10 places were determined from the 385 airlines that the organization supervises, according to Airline Ratings.

Unlike the list of the 20 safest airlines in the world prepared by the agency, which is ordered from highest to lowest, the low-cost companies appear in alphabetical order.

This means that Airline Ratings does not distinguish who has been in first place, although all 10 have a 7-star safety rating, except for Jetstar Japan, of the Jetstar group.

According to International Air Transport Association, The airline is absent from your audit trail. The web has given the company a 6-star safety rating instead of 7.

Airline Ratings clarifies that airlines that do not have the IATA Operational Safety Audit, or IOSA, are not unsafe companies, but those that have carried out and passed the audit “comply with the most stringent standards and practices governing aviation security“.

Among the 10 safest low-cost airlines in the world are 3 Americans, such as Allegiant, Frontier and JetBlue.

Volaris, based in Mexico, also appears on the list despite the fact that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) downgraded the country to category 2 in May.

According to the agency, a category 2 rating means that the country’s laws, regulations and supervision do not meet international safety standards. But nevertheless, Mexico plans to return to category 1 in 2022, according declared in August the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard.

Airlines from Asia, Australia, Canada and Europe also make the list, with only one carrier down from 2021. Last year, Air Arabia entered the top 10, but Volaris overtook it in 2022.

The low-cost list complements that of the 20 safest airlines in the world by Airline Ratings, in which Air New Zealand takes the crown.

Allegiant Air

Allegiant has its headquarters in Las Vegas and offers domestic flights to more than 100 cities in the United States, including Anchorage, Alaska.

Easyjet

Easyjet is a European airline based in England and is one of the largest low-cost carriers on the continent.

The airline operates more than 600 routes in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Frontier Airlines

Frontier, con headquartered in denver, is an American airline that flies to destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

The airline operates a fleet of aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, all of them with an animal on the tail, such as an otter or a black-footed ferret.

Jetstar Group

The Jetstar Group is made up of 3 entities: Australia-based Jetstar Airways, Singapore-based Jetstar Asia Airways and Japan-based Jetstar Japan.

The group operates one of the largest low-fare networks in Asia-Pacific by revenue, transporting passengers to more than 85 destinations.

JetBlue Airways

JetBlue is “the New York airline” and has a significant presence at John International Airport. F Kennedy, as well as in Boston.

WestJet is a Canadian low-cost airline based in Calgary and it is the second airline in the country, behind Air Canada.

The company flies to destinations in Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Wizz Air

The Hungarian airline Wizz has its seat in Budapest and operates a network of more than 500 routes in 40 countries. The company flies to cities in Europe, Asia and North Africa.
