Google Maps disappears from Android Auto on some mobile models after its latest update

Certain users have had Google Maps missing from Android Auto in their car, and so far no one has found a solution.

The latest updates have not gotten along very well with Android Auto, and in fact it is not the first time that a problem with Google Maps has been reported about malfunctioning or even disappearing, like this latest case.

And it is that one of the most used applications in Android Auto is Google Maps, an application that allows us to reach our destination in a very simple way but that after the latest updates of the service, it has been working with a series of errors in certain models of devices.

Now on the Google forums has been reported a recent issue whereby the latest update for Android Auto has literally removed Google Maps from the vehicle, with users having to opt for other alternatives such as Waze.

Android Auto, Google’s tool to use in the car as a hands-free is very useful, but it depends on a series of elements for everything to work correctly.

Specifically, a user in the Google support forums points out that after updating Android Auto to version 7.2 it has caused that Google Maps disappeared from the car screen, making it impossible for you to start browsing.

Interestingly, Google Maps does remain available on the user’s mobile device and working, but not through the screen of the vehicle in Android Auto.

Specifically, the affected users are using the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, both updated to Android 12, with which the phone brand problem could come.

However, the user affirms that after contacting Samsung support, he has informed him that the error possibly comes from Android Auto itself, so now the problem is on Google’s table.

These types of Android Auto bugs, especially when it comes to Google Maps, seem to affect only a small set of users but can hinder a service as popular as navigation through the map.

If you are one of the affected users, you should use other alternatives such as the one mentioned Waze, at least until the problem is fixed in a future update.
