LoL: Old Dane (24) is already sorted out, but he has to play – do the Penta-Kill

In the US League of Legends, the Dane Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen (24) is actually the best botlaner in the LCS: But his new coach at Cloud9 had other plans. He sorted out the veteran before the start of the season. There wasn’t even room for him in the junior team. But at the start of the season everything is different.

This was Zven’s situation:

  • The Dane Zven has been playing in the USA since 2017, after a bad few years at TSM he was the big star of Cloud9 and replaced the club legend Sneaky. But in 2021 there was a lot of trouble at Cloud9, allegedly Zven was so upset about a mistake by his jungler that he was sent to the youth team for a few games.
  • Cloud9 planned a fresh start for 2022: They brought in an innovative coach who relies entirely on Korea. His idea was to set up a strong second team to enable better training. Zven shouldn’t really play any role in the new team, only come to training times.
  • Actually, they wanted to replace the 24-year-old Dane with an 18-year-old Korean. Because of the foreigner rule in the LCS, there was actually no longer any room for Zven in the squad of the team and junior team. But the Korean “Berserker” didn’t get a visa at the start of the league, so suddenly the old Dane had to do it.

Zven gets 6th penta kill of his US career – sets a new record

So good war Zven: The ADC managed a penta kill in the match against FlyQuest. That’s what it’s called in LoL when a player knocks out all 5 opposing players in a relatively short period of time.

Zven’s penta kill was his 6th penta kill in the LCS, setting a new record.

A “penta-kill” is the highest a player can ever achieve in LoL. In professional games, the penta kill is relatively rare, because usually some other player gets in the way.

Here in the clip you can see how the legendary faker is about to do a penta-kill, which is screwed up by a fellow player:

How did Zven score the penta kill? Zven got the special performance with the hero Ziggs in a team fight on the edge of the opposing base. It was a wild fight in which Zven shot the last opponent in the back while trying to escape.

“Leave it to me! leave him to me!”

The link: In an interview with Inven, Zven says: After catching 3 opponents, he briefly thought about the penta kill, but the opponent’s ADC was still alive, so the first thing to do was to catch him and win the match safely.

When the opponent’s ADC, Aphelios, used the stop watch, Zven saw his chance on the penta, so he yelled on voice chat, “Leave it to me!” Leave it to me!”, because suddenly the penta kill was within reach.

But Zven says: He doesn’t believe that his teammates really left him to Aphelios, it just happened that way.

Has hot, innovative ideas – hopefully he will also be successful: Nick “LS” De Cesare, the new coach of Cloud9.

What does he say about his new role? Cloud9 is relying on a “10 man” squad in 2022 and Zven knows that he is currently not part of the starting line-up. However, he assures that he trusts this project and believes that it can work. The best players would then be fielded, regardless of role and nationality.

Zven says he knows he only plays because of circumstances and so many foreign players are absent. He thinks, however, that he’s still got it and can play at the LCS level.

The penta kill certainly seems to prove that.

Cloud9’s new coach, LS, already has a hot history in League of Legends:
