RPG mixes Harry Potter with Stardew Valley and looks great
There are few games that bring the fantasy of a magic school to life. In addition to Hogwarts Legacy could Songs of Glimmerwick but fill that gap. But it gets even better: We even come to a magic university here and it also has a garden that we have to take care of. In the first place, this apparently happens not only through magic, but also with the help of a lot of music.
Songs of Glimmerick: Eastshade creators reveal RPG featuring music, magic and gardening
That’s what it’s about: The makers of the extremely chilled painting game Eastshade have unveiled their new project. It’s called Songs of Glimmerick and this time it’s not a three-dimensional open world, but a 2D RPG. At its heart is a magic university, where not only magic but also a lot revolves around music and gardening.

As newly minted witches, we not only concern ourselves with learning and exploring the mysteries of magic, but also learn to make music. In addition, it is important to bring the run-down garden of the university back into shape.
But luckily we can also use music and magic: For example, we conjure up a digging fork that loosens the soil for us and, after sowing, we quickly conjure up a rain cloud that waters our beds.
The mix is extremely charming and could be really fun. Apparently, humor and action are not neglected in Songs of Glimmerwick: even if it might be cool to stand around in the middle of the forest and play the flute, not everyone necessarily sees it that way. Like the quaint tree creature at the end of the trailer: Some people are trying to sleep!
When and where is it coming? Songs of Glimmerwick has only been officially announced for PC and consoles so far. It is not yet possible to say exactly what these are, but we are just guessing that both Nintendo Switch and Xbox and PS4/PS5 are meant. The third quarter of 2023 is currently being targeted as a rough release period.
