Hardly any of you know the deadliest weapon from Fortnite – what made it so strong?
In Fortnite, Epic has already unleashed many weapons on the map. One, however, was so brute that it was only put back in the safe after a very short time. We will now show you a weapon that only very few of you know.
What is the vault? The infamous vault is an invisible room in Fortnite’s data. All items, weapons and vehicles that are currently not in use are shipped there. They are not deleted, but only stored in order to be brought back to life at a later point in time.
While an item is in the vault, it cannot appear in-game or be used.
Air Strike – The bombardment with no way out
What is this weapon? The infamous weapon is called the Air Strike and is a gray grenade with a red bomb symbol on the can. This was brought into play in version 9.30 of Fortnite after an update and caused many mixed feelings.
The grenade, as the name suggests, sends an air blast to the point of impact. This then bombards the marked area over a large area and shreds buildings and players alike.

What happened to the grenade? It didn’t take long and the device ended up in the safe. For about three weeks in Season 9, players could blast everything short and small until the fun was over. After that, the 10th season started on August 1st, 2019 without the new weapon.
What was the reason for the ban? That wasn’t quite clear. Fortnite Wiki writes the following “It was probably put in the vault due to its impractical handling”. Don’t know if that’s the real reason. But the fact of the matter is that they were definitely very strong.
You could transport four pieces in your inventory. Additionally, multiple ones could be thrown at the same target in a row to literally spam an opponent to death. The effect of the bombardment lasted a full 8 seconds.
It is a pity that after the release of the grenade, the players only had three weeks to test it in the Battle Royale.
After that, they were banned and only appeared in creative mode. Still, this gadget represented the character of Fortnite really well. The wacky and funny moments that could be achieved with them were certainly unforgettable and hopefully more badass weapons like this continue to appear in Fortnite.
