Anyone who enjoys co-op gaming should get Game Pass now

When Rainbow Six: Extraction was released, the game was included in Game Pass. This shows once again how good Microsoft’s subscription service is for co-op fans playing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

What is Game Pass? The Xbox Game Pass is like a kind of Netflix for games: Microsoft offers you a subscription that includes over 100 games for Xbox consoles and PC. The offer is huge and growing steadily: In 2021 alone, games with a total value of over €5,000 were added to the Game Pass.

How much does the Game Pass cost? The price is also attractive: the Game Pass is available on PC and Xbox consoles for €9.99 per month. What makes Game Pass so good? All genres are represented in Game Pass, from AAA shooters to story-heavy indie gems. Rainbow Six: Extraction has also been playable via the subscription service since launch day.

The shooter joins a long list of popular co-op games in Game Pass. This underlines again: The Game Pass is a great deal for co-op fans.

Game Pass makes Rainbow Six: Extraction a co-op hit

Why is Game Pass good for co-op fans? Thanks to Game Pass, players who might otherwise have ignored Rainbow Six: Extraction are really enjoying the shooter.

In the subreddit of the Ubisoft co-op shooter, several voices are raised that have become fans of the game thanks to Game Pass. It is also striking how many of these voices would otherwise not have given the shooter a chance.

What does that mean? The case of Rainbow Six: Extraction is an example of how good Game Pass is for co-op fans. Since the subscription service makes it easier to try out new titles, players can discover more games for themselves. This is even more important for co-op games because it makes it easier to convince your friends to test a game.

The Game Pass also includes other co-op hits such as the editorially popular Back 4 Blood, indie classic Terraria and Deep Rock Galactic, the absolute insider tip among co-op fans. And most recently, Rainbow Six: Extraction.

Since Microsoft recently brought Activision Blizzard on board in a spectacular purchase, Diablo 3 (ranked 3rd in our top list) could also end up in Game Pass in the future. However, this is pure speculation, nothing of the sort has been officially confirmed.

The Game Pass business model is a real success, especially for co-op fans. But the model also seems to be profitable for Microsoft. That’s why Sony is probably thinking about their own Game Pass. You can find more information here:
