Apple Glass: all the rumors and everything we know about Apple glasses

Rumors have been going on for years and it looks like Apple’s glasses are almost ready, this is all we know about them.

One of the next Apple devices that could revolutionize the industry is the known as Apple Glass. Some glasses that will use virtual reality and augmented reality and that the company could launch throughout 2022.

It is a device that we have been hearing rumors about for a long time, although we are still not very clear about what its main functions will be. We have collected everything we know about apple glasses, to see if we better understand what this device will be like.

First rumors about Apple glasses

We have been hearing rumors about possible augmented reality or virtual reality glasses from Apple for many years. The first information dates back to 2017 when Bloomberg reported that they could reach sometime in 2020, something that was not fulfilled. The new operating system called that these glasses would use was also reported: “rOS”, which based on iOS.

Other leading analysts also joined the rumours, the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, for example, said that Apple had plans to begin mass production of its first augmented reality product between 2019 and 2020. Again the rumors were wrong.

Two different models?

It seems that Apple’s ultimate goal with these glasses is to replace other devices such as the iPhone or the Apple Watch, however the path to that point will bring us two different devices.

On one hand we have a mixed reality device, both virtual and augmented, which could be used for gaming and other experiences similar to alternatives like Oculus. These are the first glasses that Apple will present, of which the design has already been leaked, and which could arrive in 2022.

And on the other we have augmented reality glasses, similar to normal glasses, which they would project information in front of our eyes. This more ambitious device would arrive within a few years. The above glasses may be launched to develop the technology of these.

What we know so far

All the rumors that have appeared are related to the first model of Apple glasses. That is to say, virtual reality and augmented reality device designed, probably, to play. This is what we know for now about this device:

• Two 8K screens to display ultra-high resolution images.
• Processor equivalent to the M1.
• 15 cameras to recognize the environment.
• iris recognition.
• Sensor LiDAR.
• Weight between 200 and 300 grams.

Release date and price

We have heard rumors of all kinds, while some took it for granted that we would see this device in 2022, there are others who are of the opinion that it could be delayed until 2023. That in the case of the mixed reality device, the augmented reality glasses are still several years away.

As for the price, the rumors have not been constant either. First, they bet on a device of about 500 dollars, but after the rumors about the power, many expect it to be between 1,000 and 2,000 dollars.
