Techland shows what you can look forward to in Dying Light 2 in the coming months.

Dying Light 2 will be released next week and developer Techland promises an adventure that can offer up to 500 hours of playtime. It remains to be seen whether the zombie action will really last that long, but even after the release, the studio wants to add a lot of content that should captivate for a long time, as a new roadmap now shows.

We’ll update this article for you with new roadmap announcements.

Dying Light 2: This is the post-launch content roadmap

As with so many other games, Dying Light 2’s release is just the beginning. That’s why Techland has them the following roadmap presented:

This is the Dying Light 2 roadmap.

So the studio shows what you can look forward to in the first half of the year:

  • February (shortly after release): free DLC based on the factions
  • March: Challenge-Set 1
  • April (starts in April, runs longer): event series called “Mutated Infected”
  • May: Challenge-Set 2
  • June: first paid story DLC

There is not much information about the new content so far. If you buy the Ultimate Edition, you get the first story DLC for free. Otherwise, Techland promises patches, bug fixes and other improvements for the main game in the first few months.

A plan for five years of Dying Light 2

Like the studio previously announced, Dying Light 2 will receive support for over five years. With the roadmap, a little more has now been revealed about what kind of content you can expect over the next few years — with no specific release dates yet.

  • second story DLC
  • new weapons
  • new opponents
  • new stories
  • new events
  • new free and paid DLCs

How about the co-op?

What Techland doesn’t currently mention in the roadmap is co-op. This will also be available for release. However, there is a problem with the German version. If you have the cut version, you can only play the co-op with those who are also using the cut version. You can read everything else about co-op and how it works here:

After several postponements, Dying Light 2 is now entering the home stretch and will start on February 4th, 2022 on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. A cloud version for the Nintendo Switch was postponed again shortly before release and is now scheduled to appear up to six months later.
