Dying Light 2 brings massive content after release – the roadmap and DLCs at a glance

The release of Dying Light 2: Stay Human is just around the corner, but developer Techland already has big plans for the future. You can see what they are and what to expect here in the overview on MeinMMO.

Was ist Dying Light 2? Dying Light 2 is the direct sequel to the first part, but has a new setting. Instead of Rio de Janeiro, the new survival title brings you to a fictional setting. In the game you use melee and firearms to defend yourself against zombies.

The game is based on a story campaign and also has a co-op mode. According to the developers, the game is said to offer an incredible 500 hours of playtime right from the start. In addition, more DLCs will follow after the release.

The creators of the survival game have already partially revealed what you should expect in a roadmap that presents the planned content in the months after the release. Here we give you an overview of the planned content for 2022.

Dying Light 2 roadmap for 2022

This is what you can expect in the coming months: Dying Light 2’s first roadmap runs through June. Until then, a mix of different content awaits you:

  • February: Several free DLCs related to the factions of the survival game. Judging by the picture, these are outfits and weapons.
  • March: Challenge Set 1, there is no detailed information on this yet. But if these are the same as in the predecessor, these are different activities and challenges in the open world.
  • April: Series of events (Mutated Infected) – Similar events already existed in the first part. Through these events, the community could unlock special rewards in the form of special weapons or equipment.
  • Mai: Here comes the challenge set 2.
  • June: The first story DLC.

What do the DLCs cost? Aside from the story DLC, the content will be free until June. If you order the Deluxe Edition, you also get the first story DLC for free.

Here you can see it again in a picture:

Dying Light 2 will get 5 years of content

What comes next? According to the official information, the first roadmap is only a foretaste, because Techland apparently wants to support Dying Light 2 until 2027. So it should be supplied with new content for about 5 years.

This content is to follow:

  • A second story DLC
  • New Weapons
  • New Enemies
  • new stories
  • New events
  • Free and paid DLCs

What exactly can you expect? We don’t yet know how the content will ultimately look like. But if you go by the predecessor, which is unfortunately indexed in Germany, the story DLCs should be interesting in addition to smaller content.

Because Dying Light was supplied with all kinds of new content over the years and even got another map.

So Techland has experience with supporting such an open-world game for years, and the larger DLCs in particular were well received by the players.

By the way: If you order the Ultimate Edition, you will also receive the second story DLC for free.

Dying Light 2 is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4 on February 4th. In Germany, however, the game appears in a censored form.

This is at least a step forward, since the first part is still not available in this country. You can find out what exactly is different in our version here:
