Which Pokémon are you meeting there? In the first limelight hour in February 2022 you will meet Leufeo from the sixth generation of the game. It belongs to the Fire and Normal types and can evolve into Pyroleo.

What bonuses do you get? For evolving Pokémon, you get double the amount of experience points.

Who is it worth it for? Neither Leufeo nor Pyroleo are strong attackers in trainer battles (PvP) or in raids (PvE). The spotlight hour is especially worthwhile if you have saved a few Pokémon to evolve and want to take the XP bonus with you.

Can you catch Shiny Leufeo? No, you cannot catch Leufeo as Shiny.

Spotlight Hour on February 8th

Which Pokémon are you meeting there? During February’s second Spotlight Hour, you’ll meet the Fairy Pokémon Parfi. It is from the sixth generation of the game and can evolve into Parfinesse.

What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokémon, you get double the amount of Stardust.

Who is it worth it for? Parfi is negligible as an attacker. The further development Parfinesse still plays in the midfield in the super and hyper league. Parfinesse is unimportant in raids.

Can you catch Shiny Parfi? No, you can’t catch Shiny Parfi in Pokémon GO yet.

Which Pokémon are you meeting there? The first-gen Pokémon Smogon is in the spotlight at February’s third Spotlight Hour. It belongs to the Poison type and can evolve into Smogmog.

What bonuses do you get? You get twice the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon.

Who is it worth it for? Neither Smogon nor Smogmog play an important role in raids or trainer battles. So use the limelight hour primarily to earn experience points and the chance to get a shiny if you’re lucky.

Can you catch Shiny Smogon? Yes, you can find and catch Shiny Smogon in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on February 22nd

Which Pokémon are you meeting there? The last limelight hour in February brings Voltobal into focus. It belongs to the Electro type and comes from the first generation of the game. You can evolve it into Lectrobal.

What bonuses do you get? For catching Pokemon, you get twice the amount of Candy.

Who is it worth it for? Neither Voltobal nor Lektrobal are interesting for raids or trainer battles. In this event, the focus is on the candy bonus. Since it also counts for other types of Pokémon, it is worth doing raids during this time and collecting double candy for catching raid bosses.
